This canal connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Aegean Sea.
The Amphitheater of Epidaurus: Amazing acoustics. The tour guides did a demonstration where they stood at the focus of the amphitheater, clapped, whispered and tore a piece of paper. I was sitting near the top of the amphitheater and I could hear everything as clear as crystal.
The archaeological site of Mycenae, located about 90 kilometers southwest of Athens in the Peloponnese.
Our tour guide recommended we all try the freshly-squeezed orange juice while in Greece. Normally I’m not a juice drinker in general, but if someone recommends a food/drink to me, I have to try it. I’m glad I did; this juice was both pleasantly tart and sweet with a gorgeous orange flavor. Nothing like the bland orange juice we get in the stores here in the states. Orange fingernails courtesy of my little sister.
Our hotel for the night. Beautiful lodgings in the hills of Olympia. Our patio overlooked a gorgeous pool surrounded by laurel trees. I couldn’t believe it was a “Best Western,” here, a Best Western equals a motel, but this facility was clean and luxurious.
were these taken with lumix zs7? turned out nicely. 🙂 did you edit them at all?
Your photos are absolutely amazing! Greece looks like a lot of fun.
@Isabelle: Yep, they were taken with a lumix zs7. Pat tells me you have one too? Isn’t it a great camera in such a small package? I did edit some of them if the lighting wasn’t good, but I find for the most part the Zs7 does outdoor color balance and lighting well.
@Wei-Wei: Thanks so much 🙂 Greece is fabulous, I wish I could go back again.
